Gday and Assamlu alulkum

The Australian Embassy in Kuwait is proud of its close and longstanding association with the Australian Business Group in Kuwait (ABG-K). And I encourage you to become a member and join us for great networking events and business opportunities.

Kuwait is an important partner for Australia. Australian exports to Kuwait are valued at AUD 700 million and we estimate Kuwait investment into Australia is valued over US$14 billion.

Kuwait is not only a major market for Australian wheat, live sheep and other agricultural products, but also for education and tourism services. Some 1,000 Kuwaiti students are enrolled in Australian institutions. The establishment of the Australian College of Kuwait in 2004 and Box Hill College of Kuwait in 2007 has assisted in expanding educational links.

But there is a lot more Australia and Kuwait can offer each other.

As Kuwait moves ahead with its efforts to realise its New Kuwait 2035 vision, there are growing opportunities for Australian businesses across areas such as infrastructure, health, education, agribusiness and energy.

I very much look forward to talking to and working with Australian businesses through ABG-K events about how to take advantage of these opportunities.

Having recently arrived in Kuwait, I intend to work closely with ABG-K to promote the importance of Australia-Kuwait business relations, and advocate the need for easier, more effective ways of doing business between our two countries.

And I am keen to see more Australian companies working here in Kuwait, partnering with Kuwaiti businesses.

I look forward to meeting you at upcoming ABG-K events.

Yours sincerely
